A major boost for Quezon's police force came with the formal signing of the Deed of Donation with Acceptance between officials of the Philippine National Police and a major shipping company.
The agreement was forged between Police Calabarzon Director P/BGen. Hanzel Marantan, Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) Director P/Col. Romulo Albacea, and Marian Reyes, owner of Starhorse Shipping Lines.
The agreement transfers ownership of a three-hectare parcel of land in Barangay Putol, Tayabas City, for the construction of a new police headquarters.
“Sobrang nagpapasalamat ako sa matagumpay na pagpirma ng Deed of Donation with Acceptance para sa lupa na nakalaan sa Quezon,” Marantan shared.
This generous donation paves the way for the QPPO to move out of its current location in Camp Guillermo Nakar, Lucena City, to a larger and more strategically placed headquarters.
QPPO Police Director Albacea highlighted that the new facility will greatly support their mission to maintain peace and order across the province.
The donated property is also expected to hold different national support units of the Philippine National Police, like the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), and the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit, which will help bring important police work together in the province.
Officials announced that they will commence construction of the new QPPO headquarters once they secure the necessary budget.
The new facility promises to bring long-term benefits to the law enforcement sector and the wider Quezon community, such as improved response times to incidents, enhanced collaboration among police units, and increased public safety initiatives.
