The Department of Agrarian Reform provides delivery trucks and grass cutters to increase the production of palm oil in South Cotabato.

To increase palm oil production of the Matelcos Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (MARBC), the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in South Cotabato turned over a delivery vehicle and four units of grass cutter for a total of ₱860,000.

The DAR Regional Director Marianne Lauban-Baunto announced that the agricultural equipment is part of DAR's Major Crop-based Block Farming Project to boost the production and marketing activities of the MARBC.

“Through these facilities, our farmers belonging to this cooperative can now work faster in improving their various crops, particularly palm oil,” Baunto said.

She also noted that with the vehicle, they would be able to distribute their goods to other markets.

“I hope that you will take care of the farm machines and maintain its optimal condition,” she said.

The project was officially turned over from the DAR to MARBC, located in Barangay Colongulo, South Cotabato, after a ribbon-cutting and signing of a certificate of turnover and acceptance.

Elviro Herbilla, the chairman of MARBC, expressed gratitude to DAR for its ongoing assistance to the cooperative.

“We promise to take good care of this equipment and we will put them in good use to serve their purpose,” he said.
