E-KADIWA enables farmers to connect consumers directly without going through a layered marketing system, allowing farmers to sell their commodities more profitably.
The Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A), in partnership with Farmers' Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs), granted financial assistance to farmers and fishers cooperatives under the Enhanced KADIWA Program (E- KADIWA) program.
E-KADIWA enables farmers to connect consumers directly without going through a layered marketing system, allowing farmers to sell their commodities more profitably.
Some of the cooperatives that received financial assistance are as follows: Pinagdanlayan Rural Improvement Club Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PRICMPC) received P1,615,000; South Luzon Farmers and Traders ’Agricultural Cooperative (SOLUFAT) which received P3,227,200; P1,562,000 to Hug and Kiss Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) -Cavite; and P1,970,000 in Yakap at Halik MPC-Quezon 2.
Financial assistance was made available to purchase product processing equipment and vehicles for the delivery of the products.
“Lubos ang aming pasasalamat sa Department of Agriculture dahil isa tayo sa napagkatiwalaan para mag-operate ng KADIWA ni Ani at Kita,” saidGabriel Arubio, President of Yakap at Halik MPC-Cavite.
Sa ganitong paraan ay maraming natutulungang maliliit na magsasaka at hindi na nila magiging problema ang marketing ng kanilang agricultural produce,” Arubio added.
Meanwhile, the San Jose workers' Multi-Purpose Cooperative received P2,533,257, which they used as an investment to purchase farmers' products in their community, which they will take to various markets in CALABARZON and neighboring regions.
