The Miss World crowned Czech beauty Krystyna Pyszkova as the new ambassador of “Beauty with the Purpose”; a campaign that the Miss World Organization has been pushing forward for 71 years.

Pyszkova prevailed over 111 contestants among continental representatives from around the world and succeeded Polish Karolina Bielawska to the title of Miss World.

In this year’s edition, the winner was chosen from 40 quarterfinalists, which comprised from fast-track winners: five head-to-head challenge winners, four “Beauty with a Purpose” continental winners, a sport challenge winner, a multimedia winner, a talent winner, a top model winner, and participants chosen by the preliminary judges.

From 40 finalists, they were cut off to 12 semi-finalists with at least two participants per region, then cut off to the Top 8 with the same number of participants per region.

The Final Four were chosen; among them are Lesego Chombo from Botswana, who is also the Continental Winner from Africa and Ache Abrahams from Trinidad and Tobago, the Continental Winner from the Americas.

The runner-up to Miss World is Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon, who is also the winner from the Asia and Oceania Region.

Moreover, some of the recipients of special awards are Leticia Frota of Brazil for Beauty with a Purpose Award for her campaign to fight against Hansen’s disease.

Martinique, Axelle Rene, is the recipient of the Top Model Award; Vietnam Huỳnh Nguyễn Mai Phương of Vietnam is the Multimedia Winner; and the Talent Winner is Miss Tunisia, Imen Mehrzi.

On the other hand, Philippine bet Gwendolyne Fourniol has an early exit from the competition after failing to enter the Top 40 Quarter Finalists.

Aside from the Miss World Beauties, Julia Morley, owner of the Miss World Organization, handed over the Miss World Humanitarian Award to Nita Ambani, an Indian businesswoman and philanthropist, for her work with global impact.
