At least four domestic flights were grounded on Thursday, July 17, due to weather conditions, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported.
Flights canceled include:
- Cebgo DG6113 (Manila-Naga)
- Cebgo DG6114 (Naga-Manila)
- Cebgo DG6171 (Clark-Masbate)
- Cebgo DG6172 (Masbate-Clark)
Affected passengers are advised to coordinate directly with their respective airlines for options on rebooking or refunding their tickets.
The aviation regulator also placed their 44 operated airports under heightened alert status as Typhoon Crising moved across the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PRA).
CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario has directed area and airport managers in at-risk areas to immediately implement their Airport Emergency Plans (AEPs) and work closely with local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (DRRMCs), airlines, and other airport stakeholders, to ensure the safety of passengers, protect facilities, and maintain operational readiness.
The Bicol Region, as the area mostly affected by Typhoon Crising, is currrently making necessary preparations, particularly in the airports of Bicol (Legazpi), Naga, Virac, and Masbate, the agency said.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Typhoon Crising has slightly strengthened while moving northwestward over the sea east of the Bicol Region.
Despite the prevailing weather disturbance, all airports in the Bicol Region are still operating normally.
CAAP said it will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further updates as additional information becomes available
