In a concerted effort to combat the pervasive issue of illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has upheld an intensive month-long campaign, resulting in a significant seizure of illicit substances across the region.
With the confiscation of approximately 6,709 grams of "shabu" and 42 grams of marijuana, valued at P45,624,415, the enforcement efforts have yielded tangible outcomes in the fight against drug trafficking. These figures, amassed from 194 police-initiated operations and the subsequent apprehension of 242 illegal drug peddlers, underscore the resolute commitment of law enforcement authorities to curbing the drug menace.
The breakdown of arrests across different provinces in the region reveals the pervasive nature of the drug trade, with Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo Province, Iloilo City, Negros Occidental, and Bacolod City all witnessing arrests linked to illegal drug activities.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU6) emerges as a standout contributor, boasting the highest drug haul of approximately 3,374 grams of "shabu." This commendable achievement is closely followed by the efforts of the Iloilo City Police Office and the Iloilo Provincial Police Office, which collectively seized 1,369 grams and 651 grams of "shabu," respectively.
In addition to the crackdown on "shabu," notable recoveries of marijuana were also recorded in Negros Occidental, Capiz and Aklan, further underscoring the diverse challenges posed by illicit substances across the region.

Brig. Gen. Jack L Wanky, director of PRO-6, expressed his gratitude for the unwavering dedication of all Drug Enforcement Units involved in the operations, applauding their relentless pursuit of justice and commitment to safeguarding communities from the pernicious effects of illegal drugs.
"Maraming salamat po sa inyong walang humpay na operasyon laban sa illegal na droga. Hindi tayo titigil habang may mga indibidual na tumatangkilik at imbolbado sa mga ipinagbabawal na gamot na ito. Pangarap po natin na wala nang buhay ang masasayang dahil sa illegal na droga," said Wanky.
Indeed, the resounding success of PRO-6's sustained operations serves as hope in the ongoing battle against drug proliferation, reaffirming the collective resolve to build a safer and drug-free environment for all.
