Once again, the circulation of counterfeit money has resurfaced as the holiday season approaches, causing concern among many vendors.
A fruit vendor in Calbayog City has fallen victim to this deceit, losing a significant amount of money due to the fraudulent transactions.
The vendor reported that she was paid with two counterfeit Php1,000 bills by a customer who purchased a box of apples and a box of ponkan for a total of P2,700.
Now, the vendor is left to grapple with the substantial loss, which poses a severe threat to the livelihood of her family during this festive season.
As the holidays draw near, authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious currency to prevent further incidents.
