Faster and more efficient rice harvesting operations were demonstrated through the use of a combine harvester deployed by the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office, as part of efforts to modernize farming practices and improve productivity.

The machine was utilized in harvesting a portion of a 30-hectare rice field under the PalaysikatSTAN Program, where crops reached full maturity after approximately 110 to 120 days.

Through the Agriculture Mechanization Program, harvesting operations were significantly accelerated compared to traditional manual methods.

This advancement is expected to help reduce post-harvest losses and improve overall efficiency, ultimately benefiting rice farmers in the area.

The harvested crops exhibited high grain quality and uniform maturity, reflecting proper crop management throughout the planting cycle.

Following the harvest, the rice was immediately transported, threshed, and dried in accordance with strict post-harvest standards to ensure optimal product quality.

With these improvements in harvesting and post-harvest practices, a bountiful yield is anticipated, bringing increased income and greater opportunities for local farmers.
