As the summer heat intensifies across the country, so does the vibrant spirit of the Quezonins.

Despite the lingering effects of economic challenges and the rising cost of living, the province is gearing up for one of its most anticipated seasons: the months of April and May.

The old cobblestone streets of Lucban and the coastal towns of the Bondoc Peninsula are turning into a canvas of colors, sounds, and traditions. The Quezonin character stays strong, no matter how heavy the burdens are.

This year, though, the celebration means more. It's not just about being big and showy; it's about being smart, practical, and keeping your identity alive during challenging times.

Official Call: Celebrate with Pride and Wisdom

QUEPTTA and DOT-CALABARZON teamed up to promote not just beaches and destinations but also Quezon's lively festivals.

On April 20, 2026, President Michael Andaya-Roxas of the Quezon Province Travel and Tours Association (QuePTTA) paid a visit to DOT-Calabarzon Regional Director Marites T. Castro and took the oath of office.

Backed by full DOT accreditation, SEC registration, and extended leadership terms for stability, the group is all set to showcase these world-class events and position Quezon as CALABARZON’s top cultural hub.

This courtesy visit not only officially established QuePTTA's role as a partner in promoting tourism, but it also reaffirmed the organization's goal of making Quezon Province the best place to visit in CALABARZON.

Now that QuePTTA has a strong foundation, it is ready to promote sustainable tourism, give power to local stakeholders, and help the province's hospitality and travel industry grow.

In a statement released by the Quezon Provincial Tourism Office, the province reaffirms its commitment to keeping its rich cultural heritage alive, even while being mindful of the current economic situation.

According to Nesler Louies Canales Almagro, Quezon Provincial Tourism Officer, the province salutes the entire community o for pushing through with their celebration despite challenges and the current crisis.

"Saludo sa buong komunidad ng San Francisco na kahit may mga hamon at krisis, tuloy ang selebrasyon. This is resilience in action, a living proof na ang bayanihan at pag-asa ay hindi kailanman nawawala,” said Almagre during the opening of Bugig-buwig Festival.

He emphasized that the festival is more than just a celebration; it is an invitation to experience the best of Quezon.

Voice of Resilience: From Leaders to Netizens

You can hear the strength of Quezon Province's people in their voices, not just in the decorations.

"Sa panahon ngayon, kailangan nating maging matalino sa paggastos. Pero hindi ibig sabihin nito ay titigil tayo sa pagdiriwang. Ang kultura natin ay yaman na hindi nabibili ng pera. Kaya't sama-sama tayong magdiwang, simple man pero bukal sa puso," shared one local executive.

Weaving has long been deeply rooted in the daily lives of Sampaloc residents. From simple fibers, they create products like hats and bags that reflect their rich culture and serve as a vital source of livelihood, especially for women.

"Sa bawat hibla ng buli, buhay ang ating kasaysayan; at sa bawat kamay na natututo, ito ay patuloy na uusbong at magpapatuloy,” Mayor Nikko Devanadera said in the opening ceremony of Bulihan Festival.

This philosophy has been warmly received by the public, as reflected in the comments of netizens and residents:

“Ito ang pamana ng ating mga ninuno, ipagpapatuloy natin kahit anong hirap. Ang mahalaga, buhay tayo at sama-sama."

Someone also shared, "Pahiyas, Agawan, Buwig-Buwig... daming puwedeng puntahan! Kahit mainit, sulit ang saya at samahan. Tara na! Ito ang pagkakataon na makalimot muna sa problema at magsaya kasama ang pamilya."

These sentiments clearly show how deeply people value their culture and traditions, despite the challenges they face.

More Than Just A Fiesta

As the province gets ready to paint the streets and fill the air with music, one thing is clear: Culture is the backbone of our economy and our sanity.

In a country that is always changing and facing challenges, these traditions serve as an anchor.

They remind us of who we are, where we came from, and what we can achieve together.

The festivals of April and May in Quezon Province are more than just tourist attractions or parties.

They are a promise that the Quezonin spirit is strong enough to survive anything, even the worst of times.
