Katipunan ng mga Artista ng Pelikulang Pilipino at Telebisyon (KAPPT) Chairman of the Board Jeffrey Santos categorically said that the animosity between his group and that of Aktor PH has gone.
“Noon talaga, kitang-kita, damang-dama ang animosity pero nang maaprubahan na ang Eddie Garcia Bill at naging batas na, wala na ang animosity (Back then, it was obvious and felt but when the Eddie Garcia Bill was enacted into law, the animosity is gone),” said Jeffrey.
But in the line of our taped conversation, Santos recognized the conflict between the two groups.
KAPPT is represented by its former president Imelda Papin, the current president Hero Bautista, action star Rhene Imperial, the newly installed Vice-President for Internal Affairs, actors Nino Muhlach, Lyn Madrigal, Jethro Ramirez, among others while Aktor PH is represented by Dingdong Dantes, it's head with Piolo Pascual, Mylene Dizon, Cherry Pie Picache, Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Joel Saracho, Judy Ann Santos and many more.
We asked Jeffrey if the two groups had conflicts with each other.
“The conflict is pare-pareho lang naman ang ipinaglalaban namin (we are fighting for the same cause,” he said.
The elder brother of Judy Ann qualified that he hasn’t talked with Dingdong or Iza who is one of the Board of Directors of the club.
“Hindi ko pa lang nakakausap si Dingdong o si Iza at hindi ko alam kung ano ang gusto nila (I have not talked to them and I don’t know what they want),” Jeffrey volunteered.
But he clarified that he saw Dantes and Calzado at the Senate when they were pushing for the approval of the bill.

“All animosities were gone. Ano pa ba naman ang ipinaglalaban namin? Pare-pareho kaming artista (What are we fighting for? We are all actors),” Santos quipped.
“Nagkataon lang siguro na magkaiba ang pangalan ng itinatakbo naming faction (It just so happened that the names of the factions were are identified with are different),” he qualified.
“But hey, we were all in this together,” he exclaimed.
The formation of Aktor PH, in the beginning, was quite intriguing even for Hero, whom colleague Art Tapalla and this columnist had conversed with before he was elevated to the top post.
‘Naitatanong ko sa sarili ko kung bakit nagtayo pa sina Dingdong, tapos, si Judy Ann, kapatid pa ni (I was even asked myself he had to form, with her who is the sister of) Jeffrey,” confessed Bautista.
This is a very interesting premise that could dichotomize the existence of two actors' organizations in one industry.
