What a difference the 2025 Palawan International Choir Festival makes?
If most of the choir shows are held in the urban areas especially in art centers, the 2025 Palawan International Choir Festival will showcase its talents in the idyllic Puerto Princesa City in Palawan.
Puerto Princes might be a city but it still radiates a bucolic atmosphere because of its lushes and aquamarine resources.
So why hold a choir festival in this part of the Philippines?
“Because Puerto Princesa is a scenic place and choir is mostly about colorful and beautiful music even if there are poignant melodies to interpret,” said Robert Delgado, the founder of the very first PICF.
“More than that, we want to preserve the arts and tradition of Puerto Princesa to be tackled in a choir festival,” revealed Delgado, the President of the National Association of Filipino Choirs.
At the moment, the NAFC is scouting possible entries to the fest which is divided into national and international competitions.
“There will also be exhibitions of choirs all over the world,” quipped Delgado.
Aside from the local and world choir presentations, the 2025 PICF will also feature an international choral conference, choral workshop, choir masterclass, fiesta booths, among others.
The PICF is slated to happen on August 13 to 16 at various venues in Puerto Princesa City.
