Rev. Fr. Wong Sheng Tian of the Sheng Lian Temple in Quezon City holds Dragon figurines and burns incense as an offering to various deities and the spirits of ancestors, as the Filipino-Chinese community prepares to celebrate the Chinese New Year this February 10.

The aromatic smoke from the incense symbolizes rising prayers and devotion, reaching the spiritual realm and carrying one's wishes and gratitude. This is a common practice among the Filipino-Chinese, who visit temples during the new year to pray for guidance and good fortune in the coming Chinese New Year.
