A China-based cargo airline has chosen a partner in Manila for ground handling and cargo management in its first-ever overseas operation.

Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions, Inc. (PAGSS) was recently selected by Jiangsu Jingdong Cargo Airlines, a subsidiary of JDL Express, one of the leading freighter and cargo operators in China.

Jiangsu operates a twice-a-week freighter service from Shenzhen to Manila, according to PAGSS President and CEO Janette Cordero.

Cordero and PAGSS Senior Vice President for Marketing and Contracts Angelo Dyoco received the award.

Cordero said the award is "just a recognition for excellence in handling and appreciation to PAGSS."

Earlier this month, Cathay Pacific Manila, a client of PAGSS, received the Airport Excellence Award for its exceptional performance, the best airport performance compared to other airports in Southeast Asia.

The award was given to acknowledge remarkable accomplishments in port performance, being the top port for Asia Miles sign-ups, exceptional resilience and operational proficiency, and exceptional excellence in customer engagement.

PAGSS' current airline partners include Air Busan, Air China, Air Hong Kong, Air Macau, Air Niugini, ANA, Bismillah Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Cebu Pacific, China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad Airways, Eva Air, Gulf Air, Hong Kong Air Cargo, Japan Airlines, Jetstar, Juneyao Air, KLM, Korean Air, Kuwait Airways, Oman Air, Peach, Philippine Airlines, Saudia, Scoot, Sichuan Airlines, Silk Air, Singapore Airlines, Starlux, Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air, Turkish Airlines, United, UPS, Virgin Atlantic, Xiamen Air, and YTO Airlines.
