The 2025 midterm elections are fast approaching and candidates are quick to file their Certificates of Candidacy at the national and local offices of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

The official filing of CoCs began last October 1, 2024 and notable names as well as unknowns have started to file their COCs.

Running through the names of the aspirants in various posts in public service, there are celebrities from different fields who have filed their intentions to run and serve the public.

The deadline for the filing of CoCs will end on October 8, 2024.

As of this writing, here are some of TV, film and theater stars who have conveyed their intention to run for public office: Richard Gomez is again in the race as congressman of the 4th District of Leyte Province while his wife, Lucy Torres is a re-electionist as Ormoc City Mayor.

Controversial vlogger Diwata from Mondragon, Northern Samar is a nominee to the Vendors party-list.

Maine Mendoza’s husband and action star Arjo Atayde is running for reelection as congressman of the Quezon City, 1st District.

Running for the Quezon City Council are Enzo Pineda, Alfred Vargas for the 5th District and Doland Castro, 1st District.

In Manila, Lou Veloso, Jr., is gunning for a Council seat while Yul Servo is running again as Vice-Mayor.

In Makati, Monsour del Rosario is taking chance at the Vice-Mayor of Makati City.

Hunk actor Marco Gumabao will try his luck in politics as a lawmaker of the 4th District of Camarines Sur.

Actor Daniel Fernando and ABS-CBN star Alex Castro are vying for reelection as Bulacan Province Governor and Vice-Governor, respectively.

Former Viva Hot Babe JC Parker and Vice Ganda’s partner Ion Perez are running as councilors for Angeles City, Pampanga ang Concepcion, Tarlac, respectively.

Erase Placenta Louie Gamboa’s son Marc Gamboa is targeting the Senate as well as actor Philip Salvador and Manny and Cynthia Villar’s daughter Camille Villar.

Re-electionists Manny Pacquiao, Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., Lito Lapid and Tito Sotto are eyeing a Senate return.

Mother and sons team Vilma Santos, Ryan Christian and Luis Manzano as Batangas Province Governor, congressman of the 6th District and Vice-Governor, respectively.

Actress Lani Mercado and son Jolo Revilla are gunning again for the 2nd and 1st congressional Districts for Cavite.

Action star Emilio Garcia is running as Mayor of Bay, Laguna while Roi Vinzon, as a Board Member, 1st District of Benguet.
