Days before the onslaught of Typhoon Carina (international name, Gaemi), Asia’s Timeless Diva and Cebuana Dulce held an awe-inspiring birthday concert at the Teatrino in Greenhills and it was an overwhelming success.
Dulce offered the show to the world, to the people, to God.
The catastrophe of the storm, however, had overturned the spirit of the event from the eyes of the singer as the floods endangered the lives of her fellow men days after she celebrated her birthday.
On Wednesday, Dulce was apprehensive of the damaging effects of the monsoon rains and the ensuing typhoons in many parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Dulce received a video from netizen Princess Joy Montalbo of Meycauayan, Bulacan that her house is already submerged in waters while Ella Gopez sought the singer’s help to rescue her pets, two dogs and one rabbit, that could be drowned anytime as the water rose in the house.
Dulce fervently prayed for the safety of Filipinos she shared the digital appeal of fellow singer Gary Valenciano: “Lord I humbly ask for your mercy and grace to be poured out upon those who are terribly affected by these torrential rains. We’re in a state of calamity, Lord. Please…Come to our rescue Jesus. Our hope is in You Lord.”
Dulce and Gary both implored word from the Bible in time of disaster, thus from Hebrews 4:16 (AMP): “Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].”
