A Singapore-based overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was feted last December 11 by budget carrier Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) for being its 250 millionth passenger.
Russel Capaniarihan, a 39-year-old resident of Bacolod, was a passenger of flight 5J814 from Singapore and returned home to spend the holidays with her family after being away for 11 years.
Capaniarihan was greeted with a warm welcome by CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao, and Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer Candice Iyog.
CEB management said it proudly reached a milestone as it celebrated flying its 250 millionth passenger, underscoring its continued dedication to providing affordable and memorable travel experiences for its passengers.
Aside from P250,000 in cash, the OFW also got 25 complimentary round-trip tickets to any destination within Cebu Pacific's wide-reaching network, covering the Philippines, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
"This 250-million passenger milestone is a testament to the trust and loyalty of every Juan who has chosen to fly with us. It represents countless stories, reunions, and memorable moments made possible over the years. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to making every Juan's journey affordable, accessible, and unforgettable - not only across the Philippines but beyond," Lao said during the event held at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
The airline management added that the celebrations began earlier at Singapore Changi Airport, where passengers of flight 5J814 were greeted with a photo wall hinting at the milestone announcement.
During the flight, cabin crew heightened the excitement with games and prizes, including round-trip tickets to any Cebu Pacific destination.
Capaniarihan was warmly greeted again upon arriving at her final destination, as Bacolod local officials honored her as the 250 millionth passenger of CEB.
