Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) has consistently demonstrated its commitment to helping and enhancing the lives of less privileged Filipino children through its in-flight fundraising initiative known as Change for Good.
Since its establishment in 2016, this campaign has garnered P91 million in donations.
Change for Good, a joint initiative between UNICEF Philippines and CEB, aims to convert the spare change of passengers into life-saving supplies and services that benefit vulnerable children and communities.
"Our partnership with UNICEF has allowed us to channel the collective goodwill of our passengers into meaningful initiatives that will positively impact the lives of Filipino children. We are thankful for the generosity of our passengers and look forward to continuing this important work with UNICEF," said Candice Iyog, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Cebu Pacific.
In 2023, CEB raised P10.9 million through Change for Good.
According to CEB management, these funds were channeled into various UNICEF programs that helped Filipino children gain access to education, health care and humanitarian aid in the Philippines.
It added that the fundraising donations were made during the UNICEF segment of every flight, which the cabin crew collected donations after the fun games on board. During the UNICEF segment, cabin crew engage passengers in games such as trivia or "bring me."
In a statement, UNICEF Philippines Representative Oyunsaikhan Dendevnorov said, "Children have the right to a better and brighter future. Our partnership with Cebu Pacific has helped support our work so that every Filipino child can grow up healthy, educated, and protected."
The budget carrier is currently the sole airline partner of UNICEF in Southeast Asia for the Change for Good initiative, and it is also the only local carrier that actively collects funds to assist children in the Philippines.
