Laughter or shall we say, rumor, is also one of the best medicines.

Wittiness enables Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) President Michelle Nikki Junia to ease up the post-surgery pain she feels while recuperating from laparoscopic appendectomy.

In her Facebook wall, Michelle Nikki notes that she wasn't spared of an illness which occurs mostly in younger age.

"I thought I was gonna get away fr this 'teenage' disease. But no," Junia quipped inside her hospital bed.

Nikki recently went under the knife at the St. Luke's Medical Center at the Bonifscio Global City (BGC) when she complained of excruciating pain in her abdomen.

"Said goodbye to my rather huge appendix," she informed.
"I praise God that while the intention was to have 2 surgeries in one go, the cyst in my ovary didn't need removal and can be cured through medication," she revealed.

Consequently, she missed important schedules as head of the premier arts and culture agency in the country, Nikki made sure she functioned even under medical restraints.

"I have missed impt meetings and events but health care needed to come first. Pede naman (It's alright to) magwork fr the hospital... hehe (chuckles)," she said.

Junia is thankful to people who supported her during and after the operation.

"Thankful to my team of doctors who made sure I'm taken care of. Special shoutout to my daughter Micka Yngson for taking care of me lovingly. Love you so much anak. My mama and papa for always visiting me and showered me w support.
"Above all, I thank the Lord for always looking after me and using people to send me a message when I am uncertain of things," she gushed.

Michelle Nikki reminded the public of taking care of their health.

"I wish for everyone's good health. Listen to your body. God bless," she stressed.

Junia is now discharged from the hospital.
