TAYTAY, Rizal – The local government, as usual, drew public outrage over what they described as a misplaced priority in the use of government resources, following a viral video that saw a municipal government-owned backhoe and dump truck being used for private construction projects.
A local group that calls itself Taytay Secret Files accused Mayor Allan de Leon of allowing the use of a government-owned backhoe and dump truck for earthmoving activities on a property owned by the late father of incumbent councilor Lengjoey Calderon along Highway 2000 in Barangay Sta. Ana.
Tila prayoridad ng Sagip Taytay Maiba Naman Administration ang mga mapagsamantalang gawain at ang mga kakampi mong Konsehal,” reads part of the caption in the viral video posted on Facebook.
Calderon is a candidate for the position of chairman in Barangay Sta. Ana.

A few months ago, a similar video was posted and went viral on social media, involving the use of a local government-owned emergency vehicle by the local chief executive’s relatives for an out-of-town private excursion in Real, Quezon.
Despite efforts to get an official statement or reaction from the Mayor (through the public information office), the local government has remained mum over the allegations.
CAPTION: FOR GOVERNMENT USE ALSO. Caught on a video that went viral, Taytay government-owned backhoe and dump truck are being used for private construction projects.
