The gifts just keep on coming for Filipino athlete Carlos Yulo, who made history by earning the country's second gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

This Monday, September 16, Toyota Motors Philippines (TMP) turned over a brand-new 2025 Land Cruiser Prado to the 24-year-old gymnast at a ceremony in its plant in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.

“Thank you, Caloy, for being an inspiration. Like the Prado, you are legendary in every way,” TMP president Masando Hashimoto said in his speech.

He also shared that Toyota Motor Corporation chair Akio Toyoda is “very proud of him and all the athletes who pushed themselves to achieve the impossible.”

“I know this gift isn’t just about me. It’s about this community that has been cheering me on. Toyota, I am so grateful to be a part of your team, this leading brand, this community, and I hope that this gift will inspire others to also chase their own dreams and never give up,” Yulo said in his acceptance speech.

According to the automotive company, Yulo personally selected the car, which has a retail price of P4.815 million.

TMP, which commenced operations in 1997 in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, is one of the largest manufacturing firms currently operating in the city.
