Despite new cases of African Swine Fever (ASF) in different parts of the country, Calumpit, Bulacan LGU pushed through with its first Longganisa Festival today along Pulilan-Calumpit road. The festival, called "Calumpit Longganisa Festival 2023," aimed at promoting and promoting their local longganisa, which was a source of pride for the town. The 2-day event begins an annual tradition.
To kick off the festival, Calumpit residents organized a 500-meter longganisa boodle fight to break the current record held by Guinobatan, Albay, which had 400 and 300-meter longganisa boodle fight in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
