Residents of Caloocan City received P20,000 worth “bigasan” livelihood packages from Caloocan city government and DOLE-NCR as part of their livelihood program
Over 150 residents of Caloocan City received “bigasan” (rice store) livelihood packages worth P20,000 from the city government and the Department of Labor and Employment-National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the Manila Standard reported.
DOLE said that the livelihood program aims to help the marginalized sectors and individuals who have lost their source of income from the pandemic.
The pandemic has caused the shutdown of numerous sources of income and livelihood for many citizens. The struggle to survive and provide for the needs of every individual has been a battle for everyone and this is one of the city government and DOLE-NCR’s way to address those needs.
Caloocan City’s Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan said the city government will continue implementing the recovery program and stimulate new opportunities to help those who are in need.
The mayor expressed gratitude to the DOLE-NCR for consistently helping Caloocan City through its benevolent programs and livelihood activities where thousands of residents and allowed families benefited in order to thrive and earn an honest means of living.
