It takes years to get the cameras rolling for the historical film "Quezon," a biographical account on the former president of the Philippine Commonwealth Manuel Luis Quezon.

The filming of the project was not a walk in the park, mind.

It went through a process of thorough preparation.

When the project was still under wraps, several actors were considered for the role of Quezon like Gary Estrada, Benjamin Alves, Raymond Bagatsing, Jericho Rosales among others, because there were not only one but several production outfits that wanted to make the biopic.

It was TBA Studios that consistently worked on the venture and finished it off with award-winning actor Jericho who landed the coveted role.

And since "Quezon" involves the history of Quezon Province as the wellspring of socio-political power of the main character, CALABARZON as the umbrella geo-political unit of the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon, is excited to witness the unfolding of the narrative of the national figure.

Set to screen next month, "Quezon" has been holding a series of discussions about the life and times, the relevance and the future significance of one of the national heroes.

Aside from Rosales, "Quezon" also stars Alves, Romnick Sarmenta, Karylle, Mon Confiado, Therese Malvar, Iain Glen, one of the stars of the popular HBO series "Game of Thrones," etc.

The saga is directed by Jerold Tarog.

Quezonians or Quezonins are patiently waiting for its run in movie houses, particularly in Lucena City where there are SM cinemas and Pacific Mall theaters.
