CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City — A new regional police director has been appointed for the CALABARZON region following the designation of PBGen. Hansel Marantan as Regional Director of the Police Regional Office CALABARZON (PRO 4A), effective Monday, March 9, 2026.
The appointment was formally announced through General Orders No. NHQ-GO-DES-2026-1126, dated March 9, 2026, issued by the Philippine National Police Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.
Prior to his new assignment, Marantan served as Director of the PNP's Highway Patrol Group (HPG).
In his new role, he will oversee police operations across the CALABARZON region, which includes the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.
During the turnover ceremony held at Camp Crame, Jose Melencio Corpuz Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police, formally handed over the symbolic flag of command to Marantan, signifying the transfer of leadership and responsibility for the region.
The ceremony was witnessed by outgoing PRO 4A Regional Director Paul Kenneth Lucas, who has been designated as the new Director of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (SAF).
Meanwhile, Jessie Tamayao, currently the Executive Officer of the Philippine National Police Directorate for Police Community Relations, has been appointed as the new Director of the Highway Patrol Group, replacing Marantan.
Lucas, on the other hand, will succeed Mark Pespes, the former head of the elite police unit who recently retired from service.
The leadership reshuffle forms part of the continuing reorganization within the Philippine National Police aimed at strengthening police operations, enhancing leadership capabilities, and improving organizational efficiency nationwide.
