While each town in the Philippines, more or less, has popular and decorated fashion designers living permanently in one provincial place transferring or transitioning from a particular root to the other, not a collective representation of their region has been launched yet except for irregular ragtag shows.

Now, a particular group has time and again presented a well-organized showcase.

It is the organization of Ignacio Caluyo, also known as Iggie Caluyo and his Exhibitions Trade Shows Advocacy Campaigns and Lifestyle Events.

I've been to a couple of Iggie's collective runway parades but his recent project Bridal Expose Tagaytay was the most representative of the CALABARZON region.

The catwalk event was held at Foramall and was participated in by exclusively designers from Laguna, Quezon, Batangas, Cavite and Rizal provinces.

One of the truest Quezonian designers was Erick Valena who was stunning in his bridal creations worn on stage by Ruffa Nava and Mark Anthony de Guia.

Erick said he is proud and excited that Caluyo has chosen him as one of the CALABARZON's fashion makers.

"This is a big break for me because I am truly representing my province in a Cavite show. Quezon Province helped me stand out. I am from Lopez and that makes a lot of difference," said Erick who started his haute couture career with the iconic Albert Figueras.

"My regional fashion shows are the wellsprings of new discoveries in the world of fashion. They first exposed their talents in my shows to be noticed by a wider market," said Iggie.

Caluyo has done regional fashion shows in the National Capital Region (NCR), Manila West, East and South.

“My next venue is Central Luzon," he announced.
