The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the long-term readiness of the country's aviation sector during a commencement ceremony for the Cebu Pacific Pilot Program held in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on November 10.

CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario emphasized the agency's ongoing efforts to future-proof Philippine aviation and support the development of the next generation of pilots.

"We will continue to upgrade our systems, enhance our regulations, and invest in training and technology. CAAP is working to ensure that our airports, air navigation systems, and compliance standards meet international benchmarks," del Rosario said.

The CAAP chief acknowledged the dedication and perseverance of the 20 cadets who successfully completed the program.

He added that the young pilots represent the future guardians of the country's airspace, as each flight carries lives, stories, and dreams, and passenger confidence is entrusted to the pilots' professionalism, integrity, and judgment.

He also commended Cebu Pacific for pioneering a program that provides meaningful opportunities for young Filipinos pursuing careers as airline pilots.
