The country's aviation regulator on Monday recognized the exceptional honesty and integrity of its airport and Central Office employees
Three employees of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) were recognized for exemplary conduct when they returned valuable items and cash left behind by their owners at airports controlled by the aviation regulator.
CAAP Director General Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo presented the certificates of appreciation to security officers Dianalyn Ignacio, Jessie D. Amoroso, Dewnil L. Husada, and security guard Steward Lapatan "for outstanding dedication to their jobs and their honesty in line of service."
Ignacio, a CAAP Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) staffer assigned at the departure area of Roxas Airport and Cebu Pacific Air staff Victor Aragon as well as Aviation Security Group police officer identified only as "Ejercito" returned a sling bag containing P200,000 in cash, medicines and important documents owned by a former Capiz governor.
Husada and Amoroso, both CSIS personnel, turned over a lost baggage containing high-value jewelry and documents left by a foreign passenger at Roxas Airport's arrival area.
Lapatan, the private security guard, returned a lost file organizer with P32,000 and other important documents owned by a pilot on March 24, 2023 at the Flight Standards Inspectorate Service building in Pasay City Central Office.
"These actions remind us that the culture of honesty is alive and well within our agency. I hope that these examples will inspire the rest of the CAAP community to emulate their honesty and do the same in every way possible, especially as we are civil servants," Tamayo said.
Tamayo also awarded employees who rendered at least 40 years of dedicated service in the agency.
"The recognition of these employees is a testament to CAAP's commitment to recognize and celebrate its employees' achievements and contributions to the authority," Tamayo added.
