K-Pop boy band BTS finally released their much-awaited song collaboration with Ed Sheeran titled “Permission to Dance.”

FOLLOWING a mini spoiler from songwriter Ed Sheeran, BTS has finally dropped their latest single titled “Permission to Dance.”

In the clip, the boyband takes to an empty desert where they let loose and start to dance. “I just wanna dance / The music’s got me going / Ain’t nothing that can stop how we move,” they sing on the uplifting chorus.

Later they’re joined by a troupe of dancers for a massive dance number.

‘Permission To Dance’ was co-written by Ed Sheeran, alongside Snow Patrol’s Steve Mac, frequent Sheeran collaborator Johnny McDaid and Jenna Andrews.

Musically and lyrically, “Permission to Dance” doesn’t break any ground, but that’s not always necessary for any one act to achieve their goals.

BTS are known by their fans for their purposeful and introspective word choices, but sometimes, like all of us, they just want to have fun.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that this latest drop is one of the few tunes released by the K-pop titans that isn’t written by any of the seven members, but rather tried-and-true hitmakers.

After releasing Map of the Soul: 7 early last year, the group followed it with another album titled ‘BE’ in late November.

The latter record featured the summer single “Dynamite,” the ensemble’s first in English. They’ve since followed it with “Butter,” which they’ve performed at the Billboard Music Awards and on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Earlier this week BTS made history again as “Butter” clocked in six weeks at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100, sealing the record for the longest-running debut streak for a single by a group.

The septet are set to perform “Permission To Dance” for the first time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as part of a two-day take-over of the program on July 13th and 14th. The track is part of the group’s Butter single CD which also dropped earlier today. (NP)
