BSP held "Palit Pera Drive" and "Info Caravan" to educate the public about the design and security features of Philippine currency and withdrawal of unfit coins and banknotes from general circulation.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas- North Luzon Regional Office held last August 14 at Malcolm Square in Baguio City "Palit Pera Drive" and "Info Caravan" to replace unfit coins and banknotes and remove them from circulation.

The "Info Caravan" offered a free session on "Know Your Money" to inform the public about the layout and security components of Philippine money. By taking part in the caravan's activities, attendees were able to win exclusive tokens.

Financial literacy is a key advocacy of the BSP, and the BSP-NLRO also disseminated informational materials on it.These materials are intended to inform the public about the value of saving, the various banking products and services that are typically used in routine financial transactions, consumer protection advice on preventing fraud and scams, and the BSP Consumer Protection Mechanism on how to escalate complaints against BSP-supervised financial institutions (BSFIs).

Similar drives were successfully carried out by the BSP-NLRO in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, San Fernando, La Union, Mabalacat, Pampanga, Lingayen, Pangasinan, and Capas, Tarlac.

The next "Palit Pera Drive" and "Info Caravan" will be held in Aurora province by the BSP.
