BSP Governor Medalla headed the BSP delegation to the 2022 Annual Meetings of the IMF-WBG as officials discussed financial developments, agendas, risks, and opportunities in finances.
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Felipe M. Medalla led the BSP delegation that participated in the 2022 International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group (IMF-WBG) Annual Meetings held in Washington, D.C., USA.
The governors in Washington were also present for the meetings, including Senior Assistant Governor Edna C. Villa, Monetary Board Member Peter B. Favila, BSP Deputy Governor Francisco G. Dakila, Jr., and Senior Director Maria Teresa S. Dueñas.
Officials from the BSP took part in different discussions such as:
· Global and regional economic and financial developments
· Global outlook and policy agenda
· Emerging market risks and policy priorities
· Challenges in managing inflationary pressures
· Challenges and opportunities in scaling up private climate finance
The delegation also attended the Informal Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meeting, the 53rd Joint Governors' Meeting of the IMF-WBG Constituency, and the Annual Roundtable of ASEAN Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, and the IMF Managing Director among others.
