Entertainment news hen, online show host and Borongan, Eastern Samar Pride Aster Amoyo has witnessed the cycle of life and death in just a matter of days.
On a Friday, Aster heard and saw on TV the bad news that Caridad Yamson Seguerra, also referred to as Mommy Caring, the mother of former child star Aiza Seguerra, now known as Ice Seguerra.
Amoyo could only shake her head.
It seemed it was only yesterday that she bumped into Caring in a showbiz function alive and kicking and suddenly she's gone in just a minute.
The next day, Aster had to attend the 67th birthday bash of actress Irene Celebre at the ballroom of Astoria Hotel in Pasig City—a testament of life.
It was the day when Irene would throwback her seeing the world for the first time and spending her youth with a bang.
Then she would get involved in various romances, some fulfilling, some intriguing.
Amoyo and Celebre have shared many memorable moments together on and off-cam.
That is why when Irene was preparing the guest list for her party, Aster was one on its top priorities.
It so happened that Celebre had a very special guest at the time--her would-be fiancé Archie Perez de Tagle, the son of the late popular Queen of Kundiman Sylvia Latorre.
During the party, Archie would wear Irene an engagement ring on Irene's finger as a sign of their love pact.
Earlier, it was also Perez de Tagle who also thought, reminded and insisted that Aster get invited to the affair.
"Ako ang nagsabi kay Irene na imbitahan si Aster dahil kilala ko na siya noon pa. Sa Vicor pa, kilala ko na siya (I told Irene to invite her because I already knew her during my Vicor days)," said Archie.
Perez de Tagle used to be a contract singing star of Vicor Music Corporation.
It was, indeed, refreshing for Amoyo to see Irene and Archie together.
"Maliit talaga ang mundo (The world is indeed small)," Aster quipped.
It was like reliving the glorious past of the late 70s and early 80s when Celebre and Perez de Tagle were in the height not only of their popularity but youth as well.
It was an unforgettable night.
Unluckily, Aster had come face-to-face with hell in the middle of the heavenly celebration of Irene's natal day.
According to Amoyo, when she came out from the hotel after the rains to get to her car, she slipped on the ramp, fell flat and hit her head on the pavement.
On Monday night, Aster was at the Aeternitas Funeral Homes along Commonwealth Avenue to pay her last respects to the late Mommy Caring Seguerra.
Here Aster narrated her harrowing experience of her bad fall.
"Hindi naman sumasakit ang ulo ko. Hindi rin ako nasusuka. Pero magpapatingin din ako (My head ain't aching and I'm not throwing up. But I should have my head examined)," she assured.
On Friday, a bearer of digital bad news announced that irrepressible Lolit Solis has died of organs' failure and complications.
