Port of NAIA supports the opening of the new hangar of Lufthansa Technik Philippines as a new investment opportunities in the country.
The Bureau of Customs (BoC) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) joined the formal opening of Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) Hangar 1A as part of its support to promote investment opportunities in the country.
Port of NAIA District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan said the bureau "continues to support the growth of the aviation industry in the Philippines thus promoting the nation as an aeronautical hub in Asia."
LTP said the hangar, which is the company's fourth, can accommodate four narrow-body aircraft, or one widebody aircraft and two narrow-body aircraft.Alternatively, the bigger Airbus A380 can also be accommodated.
The new hangar was officially opened to the public on August 19, 2022 by LTP President Elmar Lutter and Vice President for Marketing and Sales Rainer Janke.
The event was also attended by other officials - Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual, Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, Congressman Joey S. Salceda, Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Cesar Chiong, Philippine Airlines President and COO Stanley K. Ng, MacroAsia President and COO Eduardo T. Luy, PAL Holdings Vice President Lucio Tan 3rd, and other officials from aviation industry.
Lutter said that the new flagship hangar would help generate new job opportunities, support tourism growth and local aviation.
The LTP president also expressed his hope to grow the LTP's business to the Philippines.
Talusan said he recognizes and supports LTP's Philippine operation as a world class investment that would bring in additional investment and employment opportunities for the country.
