A Chinese national who has been blacklisted by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after attempting to enter a country on a fake entry visa.
The Chinese national, identified as 30-year-old Lin Jingxiong, arrived on board a Cebu Pacific flight from Singapore Saturday (July 1), according to BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.
Lin was stopped after being found to have been blacklisted from the country, as well as presenting a Philippine visa that aroused the suspicion of officers.
Verification with the BI’s forensic documents laboratory confirmed that the document was indeed counterfeit.
Records show that Lin was blacklisted last February for overstaying in the Philippines.
He was immediately arrested and will remain in the BI’s facility in Bicutan, Taguig pending deportation.
Tansingco said that the latest anti-fraud technologies currently employed by the BI has enabled them to detect suspicious individuals who are trying to enter the country through forged documents.
“Our immigration personnel are highly trained in detecting fraud,” the BI commissioner added.
