"More than just appreciating the beautiful sights of our country, this time we have a call to action."

With the relaunch of the "Agila: The EKsperience" at the Enchanted Kingdom last Saturday, October 4, officials hope not just to showcase the Philippines' natural beauty but also encourage Filipinos, particularly the youth, to stand up for environmental protection.

EK officials led by Dr. Cynthia Mamon, Chief Operating Officer spearheaded the relaunch of the “Agila: The EKsperience,” which had been closed to the public for three months due to rehabilitation.

During the relaunch, EK officials also introduced the members of its "Agila Family," which now includes "Balasik," "Aruga," "Sigla," and their newest friend, "Sinag the Eagle Ray."

First opened in 2016, "Agila: The EKsperience," the first and only flying theater in the Philippines, has been the cornerstone of EK’s magical and educational entertainment, catering to over half a million students each year.

Bringing hope

In light of the recent natural calamities that hit the Philippines in the past months, Dr. Mamon said the new "Agila: The EKsperience" aims to give positivity and hope to the Filipino people.

"Despite all of these natural disasters, we still have a beautiful country. We still need to be proud of being Filipino. Yun po ang amin talagang sincere mission. Kasi yun ang kulang ngayon," Mamon told reporters.

The reopened attraction, now dubbed "Agila: The EKsperience SARIBUHAY," aims to showcase and celebrate the Philippines' rich biodiversity through its one-of-a-kind flying theatre experience.

The name "SARIBUHAY" – a portmanteau of two Filipino words, "sari" and "buhay" – encapsulates the show’s goals of portraying the rich variety of Philippine flora and fauna.

“Saribuhay means biodiversity: sari-saring buhay, sari-saring kultura, sari-saring buhay na pinagsama,” Dr. Mamon added.

EK visitors are also encouraged to drop by its hydroponics facility where they can witness firsthand sustainable agricultural practices, designed to promote food security and climate-smart solutions.

The reopening of the "Agila: The EKsperience" is part of activities slated by EK officials for its 30th anniversary celebrations this October.
