It was a very elegant presentation of the collaboration between the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) Philippines that added to the immense musical talent of Binan City resident Zephanie Dimaranan.
Zephanie stood in the middle of the Metropolitan Theater stage as she sang very haunting music of today’s hot K-pop telenovela and Filipino teleserye.
We hoped Binan City people would witness the way their kababayan pushed up the image not only of the Philippines but their city as well.
Dimaranan gave an impressive performance even if it was just a single entry to the multifarious blend of many talents to give tribute to the hallyu culture and the Filipino popular entertainment.
Entertainment writer Art Tapalla could only express his admiration to Zephanie. “Ang galing-galing niya. Dapat ipagmalaki siya ng mga taga-Binan. Pride siya ng mga ito (She’s very good. People from Binan should be proud of her. She is their pride actually),” Art praised the Idol Philippines winner before the pandemic struck the whole world.
Dimaranan was accompanied by the prestigious and the country’s premier orchestra, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO).
It was only a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Zephanie to get to perform on one stage with one of Korea’s singing idols Gaho and Philippines’ Limitless Star Julie Ann San Jose.
