With its world-class facilities, Biñan City, Laguna has served as host for many national and international sporting events in the past
This coming April, the city is now set to host another important sporting event: the Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM), which will open on April 7.
Last March 18, officials of the Biñan City government led by City Education Officer Dr. Edmil Recibe, City Youth and Sports Development Officer Alfred Benedict Suarez, and City Community Affairs Officer Ron Roscain met with officials of the Department of Education (DepEd) to coordinate for the upcoming event.
Among the issues discussed at the meeting include providing accommodations for the 5,961 delegates from all over Calabarzon.
These delegates will be housed in nine public schools in Biñan City, according to city officials.
The Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM), which will be held until April 13, is an important stepping-stone for local athletes who will be given the chance to compete in the Palarong Pambansa 2024.
