What better way to celebrate Labor Day 2022 than to assure the workers that bills are being readied to ensure the stability of state pension funds so that when they retire they can rest easy.

Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes of Senior Citizen Partylist said

"our legislative priorities for the labor sector in the next Congress include the further strengthening of the state pension funds and financial institutions."

This is why we shall ready new bills for the Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), PAG-IBIG Fund, Philippine Veterans Bank, and retirement fund of military and uniformed personnel.

He said he would also file a bill to protect Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO), SSS and GSIS pensioners from loan sharks and investment scams.

There is also an urgent need to enable the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Insurance Commission, and other government financial regulators to go after scammers victimizing seniors and retirees, he said.

Through our work in committees, we will continue to support welfare and anti-abuse programs for seniors and retirees, Ordanes emphasized.

This 18th Congress we were able to cause the passage into law many bills for seniors.

Our legislative work continues. Bills that do not make it to the final stretch will be refiled.

When I refile, I will get the best provisions from my own bills and the versions of bills that made it past committee approval up to 3rd reading.
