Assistance to Filipinos who may possibly be repatriated following the recent escalation of conflict in Israel and Palestine is being readied by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

The announcement made on Monday, stated that the bureau is already coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on schedules of possible repatriations.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that he will be deploying special teams that would expeditiously process the documents of affected Filipino and their families.

“Should they come in special flights, we will have a dedicated team process their documents immediately upon arrival,” he said.

Tansingco added that the agency will extend all assistance as required by the DFA and the DMW for the well-being of the repatriates.

He shared that as of this time of writing, no schedules for repatriation have been coordinated with them yet, but they are closely monitoring updates from DFA and DMW.

“The safety of our kababayans is a top priority for the government,” said Tansingco. “The BI will do what it can to extend assistance to agencies involved in repatriation of Filipinos.
