Officers of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested three illegal aliens right inside the BI's head office in Intramuros, Manila.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco shared that the three aliens were intercepted by officers of the immigration regulation division (IRD) on three separate occasions when they reported their new passports to the BI head office.
Immigration policies require foreign nationals to report new passports and travel documents to transfer their latest entry and visas from their old passport.
Last August 2, officers arrested a Chinese man identified as Song Tiancheng, 25 years old, after he was found to be a wanted fugitive facing a case for contractual fraud in China.
A deportation case was filed against him earlier this year after Chinese authorities informed the BI about his pending case in China.
Meanwhile, officers also intercepted on August 6 a Taiwanese man identified as Tu En Cheng, 51 years old, after he was found to be the subject of a summary deportation order that the BI's board of commissioners issued in 2020.
Tu was tagged as a fugitive in his country for fraud, which prompted the BI to file an undesirability complaint against him.
The following day, a Chinese woman was also arrested after being found to be a fugitive. Dong Baolian, 39 years old, is a fugitive from China who is wanted for fraud.
Dong is an alleged member of a company that has allegedly developed an application used for defrauding over CNY 1.54 Million from its victims.
All three aliens will remain in the BI’s holding facility pending deportation proceedings.
