Quezon Province is finally getting a major upgrade as the new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB), of the Port of Lucena is getting ready to open to the public.

This project is not just an infrastructure project but also a transformative project that will change the way we travel and access the transportation services in the region.

Say goodbye to crowded spaces and subpar amenities because this state-of-the-art structure will offer safety, convenience, and comfort to all travelers and visitors that use this vital entry point.

The facility is built to today’s standards and can accommodate up to one thousand passengers. This means it can easily serve a larger volume of people, whether they are local residents traveling home, workers going to their destinations, or foreign tourists exploring the beauty of Quezon and nearby provinces.

Without a doubt, this upgrade will not only improve transportation services but will also give a strong boost to local tourism and economic growth. When visitors see that we have world‑class facilities, they will be more encouraged to visit and support our local communities and businesses.

“Ang direktiba sa atin ng Pangulo dapat gawing moderno at passenger-friendly ang ating mga pantalan. Isang ehemplo ng utos ng Pangulo ay itong Port of Lucena at ganito rin ang gagawin natin sa ibang pantalan sa buong bansa,” Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez said during his official inspection.

He was joined by Philippine Ports Authority General Manager Jay Santiago and DOTr Undersecretary for Planning and Project Development Teodorico Delfin.

Their presence clearly shows that this project is given high priority and is part of the government’s serious commitment to modernize public services across the country.

According to General Manager Santiago, this new terminal is indeed a big milestone that will bring positive changes to everyone. It was built with the real needs of passengers in mind. One of its best features is the installation of automated ticketing counters, which will surely eliminate long waiting hours and make transactions much faster and simpler.

It’s also good that they’ve taken sustainability into account when building it, as it has solar panels fitted to power parts of the building.

This proves that development and environmental protection can go hand in hand.

“Oras na matapos itong PTB, hindi na magsisiksikan ang ating mga pasahero na bibiyahe sa kanilang probinsya. Mas komportable na sila at hindi na sila mahihirapan dahil mas madali na ang pag-book ng kanilang ticket,” he emphasized.

Indeed, this is a project that truly serves the people. It is a clear sign that progress is possible when the welfare of the public is placed first.
