Good governance is not merely ideal. It is happening in Quezon Province. The Lady Governor works hard everyday, always visible to public eye.

It is impossible not to notice the holistic approach being employed by the Provincial Chief Executive. More so, to not commend the good things being done for all the cities and municipalities in Quezon. She has been doing the best that she can, and it cannot be overlooked.

This week, the Provincial Government opened local employment opportunities, allocated P14.5-M funding for the students who will work under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), launched local products from cacao, Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Pay out, Turn-over of ambulance with DOH-CHD-Calabarzon, partnership for health referral with DOH health facilities and hospitals in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, and a lot more.

Aside from meetings and dialogues with different sectors, Governor Angelina "Helen" Tan met with Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) administrators to ensure the opening of a College of Medicine for academic year 2023 this August.

It is easy to criticize the government if it is not doing what it is mandated to do but it is also apt to commend government officials who are doing their jobs for the benefit of their constituents.

One thing though, that needs to be addressed immediately, are the accidents in the different towns in the province. Some roads are pitch dark at night, like along the highway of Atimonan. The bad road condition particularly in Gumaca need to be checked. There are holes along the road that need to be fixed. Rants and memes have recently been doing rounds in social media, simply because it has been affecting the commuters and motorists that pass by the area. Lives of travellers may be put to risk if these problems are not solved.

As the provincial government is doing its job well with the leadership of a working governor, local leaders have to follow suit so that government services in all municipalities and cities will be in line with the goal and tagline being “Better Together”.
