To chart another year of challenges to uplift the sagging condition of the local film industry, Asia's Sentimental Songstress Imelda Papin, reelected president of the Katipunan ng mga Artista ng Pelikulang Pilipino at Telebisyon (KAPPT) or Actors Guild of the Philippines, together with other officers, was sworn in by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
As the new set of officers for 2023-2024 were inducted into office, Papin said she is moving heaven and earth to redefine the role of the Actors Guild to bounce back a reinvigorated group of Filipino actors and to contribute immensely in the growth and development of the local film business and art.
"Ang pangarap ko talaga, maging mas marami pang activities ang Actors Guild at bumalik ang mga dating aktibong members and officers sa hanay ng malalaking produksyon ng pelikulang Pilipino (Actually, my vision is to realize more activities and former active members and officers from big productions of Filipino movies to go back to the fold)," explained Papin.
