There is a new reason to support domestic tourism as Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar bags best historic hotel award.

LAS Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan has been awarded for celebrating history in the guest experience while also providing exceptional customer hospitality and service.

Over 300 hotels and resorts worldwide were recognized by Historic Hotels Worldwide in the 2021 edition of the annual awarding ceremony and gala dinner last November 11, 2021.

This year over 260 hotels and resorts were nominated by historic hotels, preservation supporters, prior award recipients, community leaders, and leadership from Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide.

Afterward, the Historic Hotels Awards of Excellence nominations committee evaluated and, after careful consideration, selected the 2021 Historic Hotels Awards of Excellence Winners.

The Philippine hotel bested six other nominees from Asia and the Pacific which include Deogarh Mahal Rajasthan, Raffles Singapore, Beijing Hotel NUO, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor, and The Murray Hong Kong.

“It’s incredibly humbling to stand before such an esteemed audience and receive this prestigious award,” said Jose “Jerry” Acuzar, founder and owner of Las Casas Filipinas in a video message.

The 400-hectare destination features a collection of transplanted and restored heritage houses and Colonial buildings from all around the country.

In his message, Acuzar also recognized and thanked his team and the New San Jose Builders Inc., who “built my vision of collecting and restoring these ancestral homes that were in a state of neglect and decay.”

Today, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar has 63 heritage houses and 34 historically significant structures.

Locals interested in visiting the newly awarded heritage hotel may do so given they are over 18 or under 65 years old, given that Bataan is currently in Alert Level 2 until November 30.
