While at “Caden,” someone crops into my consciousness.
Remember balladeer Aris Demavivas?
Aris Demavivas became popular in the 1970s and 1980s with songs like “Forgive Me,” “Love Me, Love Me Again,” “Alaala Ka,” among others.
Aris used to sport the name Aristeo Demavivas but he preferred to shorten it to Aris Demavivas which was more convenient to his fans’ echoing his name.
I just received a call from Aris and we had a nostalgic and exciting conversation.
He told me he has, for the moment, taken his singing career to the backseat to manage fully a hotel in Iloilo City named Iloilo Gateway Hotel and Suites.
“Paminsan-minsan, kumakanta pa rin dahil nasa hotel ako, nare-request akong kumanta (Once in a while I sing because I am managing the hotel so some guests would request me to sing and I oblige),” chuckled Aris, the General Manager.
In photos, Demaviva still looks gorgeous and appealing.
According to him, he is tied up with hotel work so he slows down in singing but music, he said, is still his passion.
