Southies, here's your chance to "beat the heat" and experience Baguio City!
Starting June 1, HM Transport, one of Laguna province's largest homegrown bus companies, will commence daily regular trips between Calamba City, Laguna and Baguio City.
HM Transport has partnered with Victory Liner, one of the Philippines' largest bus conglomerates, which will deploy the buses and personnel for the route.
A total of 12 daily trips per day will connect Southern Luzon residents from Victory Liner's Baguio City terminal to a new bus station in Barangay Turbina, Calamba City and vice-versa.
There will be two trip "classes": Express Trips for those seeking a faster direct commute to Baguio City, and Inner Cities for commuters wishing to be dropped off at towns and cities along the route.
The Inner Cities trips will also drop off and pick up passengers at the Dau Bus Terminal in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, a major transportation hub in Central Luzon.
The Calamba-Baguio route is one of the three new bus routes opened by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to facilitate greater connectivity between Northern and Southern Luzon and provide commuters with alternate routes that will bypass major terminals in Metro Manila.
The two other routes - Calamba City to Iba, Zambales and Calamba City to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan - have yet to be finalized, according to the LTFRB.
