Motorists applying for driver’s licenses may once again face a shortage of plastic cards, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) admitted in a press conference January 18.
LTO Chief Asec. Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza III said the LTO currently has only 270,000 plastic cards in stock, which will last for two weeks. Mendoza added that the agency is still waiting for the Department of Transportation's (DOTr) decision regarding the possibility of 'government-to-government' procurement for the supply plastic cards for licenses.
