After 11 long years, Karen Davila will be back hosting TV Patrol, arguably the most popular TV news program in the country, replacing Noli ‘Kabayan’ De Castro who will be running for senator under the banner of Isko Moreno’s Aksyon Demokratiko.
POPULAR broadcast journalist Karen Davila is set to start a regular TV Patrol hosting job tomorrow (October 11), coming back after 11 years when she first anchored ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast.
Davila’s return came after “Kabayan” Noli de Castro left the station to run for senator under Manila Mayor Francisko “Isko” Moreno’s Aksyon Demokratiko.
She will be joined by Henry Omaga-Diaz and Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo in leading ABS-CBN’s news program from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays.
The last time Davila anchored TV Patrol was from 2004 to 2010 then with Julius Babao and Ted Failon although there were times that she will be called to the program to pitch in when one of the regular anchors could not make it.
It was also the time when De Castro was serving as the Vice President.
Afterward, she moved to the late-night newscast “Bandila” with Babao and Ces Drilon.
According to ABS-CBN, the award-winning journalist started her career as a writer-presenter for “Probe Team” and was part of the channel’s investigative journalism series “The Correspondents”.
Senior news reporter Pia Gutierez will take Davila’s anchor desk at ANC’s “The World Tonight” starting on Monday as well. The segment airs on weekdays at 9 pm.
