The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has started the third batch of the Advanced Masters in Aviation Safety Management (AMASM) program.
The country's aviation regulator has partnered with the French aviation institution Ecole Nationale de L'Aviation Civile (ENAC), and with the support of Airbus through the ENAC Foundation on the program.
The program's goal is to develop highly trained aviation experts who can take charge of safety and regulatory efforts to create a safer and more effective air transportation system in the country, following the international guidelines of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and in support of its Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP).
Led by ENAC-selected, highly qualified experts, the program brings together 22 participants, with 14 representing CAAP and 8 from various local aviation sectors. This promotes collaboration amongst a diverse and inclusive group within the Philippine air transportation system.
Designed as a part-time program, it features an intensive five-day module every month for 12 months, followed by six months dedicated to thesis preparation and defense.
CAAP Director General Raul Del Rosario said the program underscores the agency's commitment to advancing safety oversight and leadership in aviation.
"Aviation safety is not a static goal but a living commitment that demands vigilance, foresight, and leadership," Del Rosario said in a statement.
The AMASM program, Del Rosario said, is part of CAAP's ongoing international collaboration to align Philippine aviation with global benchmarks and position the country as a regional leader in aviation safety management.
