The Laguna Provincial Peace and Order Office (PPOO) has eyed the engagement of the youth in its national security awareness campaign, officials recently bared.

In a recent media interview, PPOO In-Charge of Office lawyer Laurence Pasia emphasized the importance of collaboration between local authorities, community leaders, and academic institutions in maintaining Laguna’s status as one of the safest provinces in the CALABARZON region.

“This year, we plan to intensify information campaigns for the youth in the national security awareness campaign, a series of training and security for our youth and we will intensify the campaign for a continuing peace in our province,” Pasia said.

The PPOO is responsible for maintaining peace and security in Laguna by coordinating with law enforcement agencies, local government units, and community organizations to address critical issues related to public safety, crime prevention, and overall peace and security. The office develops and implements programs aimed at reducing crime and fostering a safe environment for residents by partnering with educational institutions to roll out seminars and workshops tailored for students.

“The provincial peace and order council has issued a resolution with concerned agencies such as the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and other agencies to conduct security awareness campaign in our secondary and tertiary institutions and it is wholeheartedly supported by provincial government of Laguna,” he said.

“National security awareness among the youth will inform them about the ills caused by those recruited by CTGs while letting them know that the government is there to support and guide them," he added.
