Show business doesn't lag behind in the pursuit of truth and justice in the impeachment of Vice-President Sara Duterte.

For many showbiz denizens, they just call for a fair trial afforded in a democracy being mandated by the Constitution and not just to make noise.

Committed artists showed up in the recent protest rallies against the derailed impeachment process.

They joined other concerned citizens who would also want a court that could investigate Sara fairly.

Visayan singer and stage thespian, Audie Gemora, a certified Ilonggo, was visibly pissed off by the move of the Senate to remand the Articles of Impeachment to the House of Representatives.

Because of this development, Audie couldn't afford to be silent.

"When there is no justice in government then it is time for citizens to take to the streets," commented Audie who came with his theater friends and met new people who are also in pursuit of accountability among our leaders.

Not content with the impeachment rallies, Gemora, after his militant act, went to the Metropolitan Theater to join his colleagues in the celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2025.

One day apart but Audie was able to accomplish a lot of patriotic activities.

“The stage has always been a venue for patriotism. What a privilege to have been part of an Independence Day celebration on the stage of the historic Metropolitan Theater for ‘Musikal 3’ and sing about loyalty and love of country at such a time as this,” wrote Gemora on his Facebook wall.

Audie sang a nationalist song composed by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab.

Actor and writer Joel Saracho, a ubiquitous small and big screen performer, a veteran as well of street rallies since the dictatorship of Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr., on the last day of the mass action was indignant in the way the Senate performed in the august hall.

Joel said that the 18 “prostitute-senators” made him dumb-witted.

Saracho, who is noted for his diverse roles in film and television, reminded the audience that after the intense rally, participants or not, must watch movies, particularly Star Cinema's "Only We Know" which starred veteran actress Charo Santos-Concio and Dingdong Dantes and entries in this year's Virgin Labfest.

Meanwhile, TV host and historian Xiao Chua participated in the rallies before attending his classes at the De La Salle University.

Xiao is also pissed off with the eighteen senators who are blindly and unconstitutionally muddling the people's Charter.

Although he wasn't around during the three-day demonstrations in front of the Senate, Romnick Sarmenta was critical of Senate President Chiz Escudero.

Romnick even quoted St. Augustine that "whoever is against truth is unjust."
